Invited by Vranken-Pommery, Olivier Strebelle
exhibited 40 of his monumental sculptures at Pommery domain in
Reims from June 2003 until March 2004. Some of the sculptures
were displayed on the lawn in front of Pommery’s neo-Elizabethan
style buildings surrounding the majestic "Protecting Eagle".
Others were accommodated in the magical twilight of the 30 meters
high wine cellars that expand over 18 kilometers sheltering millions
of bottles. Hidden in the meandering galleries, the sculptures
surprised the visitor with their immobile presence, awakening
all kinds of emotions.
Another monumental sculpture was exhibited in the center of the
city in front of the Reims cathedral.
